                                      ABOUT THIS ENTRY

                                      Duke men's basketball fans sent in a lot of incredible re-enactments of all-time Duke plays during the pandemic, which we then turned into a compilation video.

                                      How does this represent “Excellence in Engagement”?

                                      This was successful because we were able to take a negative situation and give Duke fans an outlet to express themselves. We had done plenty of contests and giveaways in the past, but had never asked fans to send in videos of themselves. Fans were eager to submit, knowing that their videos would reach a large audience on our social channels.

                                       

                                      Objective: As we all know, the college basketball season was abruptly cut short with no March Madness in 2020. Everyone was quarantined and spirits were low, so we wanted to find a way to engage with Duke Basketball fans and give them something safe to do while celebrating their fandom.

                                      Strategy & Execution: We posted on Twitter and Facebook asking for Duke fans to send in videos re-creating their favorite Duke Basketball plays safely from home, which we would then combine into a compilation video that would be featured on our social media channels. This was geared toward our younger fans - kids who were at home and could utilize their driveways and/or playrooms.

                                      • 152K impressions, 32K views and 7.2K engagements on Twitter
                                      • 6K views on YouTube
