Additionally, our server’s dynamic environment, featuring high-profile takeovers and live events, creates a unique and immersive experience for sports enthusiasts, transcending traditional fan engagement models. The staggering growth rates and unparalleled activity levels underscore the server’s position as the undisputed #1 sports server globally, showcasing a new standard for community engagement within the Discord ecosystem. Objective Our goal at PrizePicks is to build a community of the most engaged fans in sports. In 2021, we ventured out to Discord as a rising community platform to become a second screen experience for our DFS product. Our goal was simple: provide a space to foster a safe, exciting, and engaging community for a variety of different sports fans. We set out to build a server for the members of our PrizePicks community, but discovered that the conversation around sports also brought in non-DFS fans by the thousands. The PrizePicks server caters to all sport fandoms from NBA, NFL, MLB, & WNBA to League of Legends, Call of Duty, Valorant, and European Basketball. Strategy & Execution Our strategy was built around the modern sports fan’s need for community. Whether it’s an iMessage group chat, an Instagram DM, or a Discord chat, sports fans are more connected than ever. We took advantage of this opportunity by creating a Discord environment that rewards and incentivizes engagement. Using a custom level tracking bot, we give our Discord members a digital credit for every minute that they are active on our server. These credits can then be redeemed for higher ranking giveaways and promotions that we run daily. These promotions are both product based and give our members an advantage such as a discount or even ”insurance” through a protected play for our DFS product. In addition to these incentives, our strategy for growth has been surrounded by the concept of FOMO (fear of missing out). Whether it’s UFC World Champion Sean O’Malley doing a channel takeover on our server, or Funny Marco going live on a Discord stage for trivia night. We have created the ultimate hang out and forum for action-seeking sports fans.
