A week before its fourth-quarter earnings report, WWE has ousted both of its co-presidents in a huge management shakeup. No details were provided by the company on the reasoning for the shakeup, a place each of whom had spent more than a decade with. Frank A. Riddick III, a WWE board member for 11 years who’s held management positions at several large corporations, has been named interim CFO. The company has started a search for both a permanent CFO and a Chief Revenue Officer.
Richard Verow has joined beIN Media Group to be their new chief sports officer. Verow was Sky Sports’ commercial director since 2012, where he oversaw major negotiations with the Premier League, the International Cricket Council, Formula 1, UEFA, England Cricket, England Rugby, the NFL, and the NBA. Verow will be based in London and replaces Daniel Markham. He will report to beIN Media Group CEO Yousef Al-Obaidly.
Sunita Kaur has joined Twitch as its first managing director for the Asia-Pacific region as the company begins to expand its sphere of operation to the region. Kaur will be based in Singapore with a remit to grow the local Twitch community and improve the service for all benefit content creators, media partners, agencies, advertisers, publishers, and developers. Kaur arrives at Twitch from Spotify where she accrued a wealth of experience in the region over six years as managing director of Southeast Asia.
Facebook has announced a new hire with Eventbrite’s chief marketing officer Brian Irving joining the team. Irving will be joining Facebook in March as the global head of marketing for augmented reality and virtual reality products. He’ll be tasked with promoting a range of products and initiatives as Facebook looks to dominate the VR market. With no hardware currently expected, this will likely focus on software, namely Facebook Horizon.
Under Armour has announced that Colin Browne has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Paul Fipps has been named Chief Experience Officer (CXO). As COO, Browne has responsibility for the company’s supply chain and sourcing operations, demand planning, distribution, information technology, business process management, corporate real estate, asset protection, and sustainability. For Fipps, he’s responsible for the company’s overall consumer experience and digital strategy.
