The main objective of our longform video – The Historic Rookie Season of Caitlin Clark – was to capture and convey the extraordinary journey of Caitlin’s rookie season in the WNBA. After joining the league as one of the most anticipated No. 1 picks in any sport in history and shattering all expectations for her rookie year, we had the incredible opportunity to put together a full story highlighting her achievements and impact throughout the year.

We pushed the limit of what an internal content team could acheive with our longform documentary recapping Caitlin Clark's historic season. The nearly 600k video views set a new benchmark for what's possible for one single video from a WNBA team.
Objective
The objective of the our Historic Rookie Season Caitlin Clark video was to capture and convey the extraordinary journey of Caitlin Clark during her rookie season in the WNBA. The video aimed to highlight her achievements, the challenges she faced, and the impact she had on the team and the league. By showcasing her story, we sought to inspire fans, attract new followers, and elevate the profile of women's basketball.
Strategy & Execution
Throughout the season, we knew we’d want to create an all-encompassing longform recap of Caitlin’s rookie season. From draft night through the final game of the season, we wanted to create a video fans could remember every incredible moment from her historic season.
We put together a plan to capture every moment possible from Caitlin’s rookie season – every practice, every game, every arrival, every moment with the fans. We were everywhere Caitlin was with a camera in hand to document the journey. When the season ended we coordinated time with our play-by-play announcer to help us narrate the story and make it cohesive, digestible and engaging for fans.
