Intuit Dome Fan Experience
The 7th Annual Awards
- Best New Fan Experience
ABOUT THIS ENTRY
Intuit Dome redefines the live sports experience with a fan-first, technology-driven design that eliminates common pain points—like long lines and slow concessions—while delivering an immersive atmosphere through features like the 360-degree Halo Board and “The Wall” fan section. As the NBA’s first carbon-neutral, 100% solar-powered arena, it sets a new benchmark for sustainability, community impact and home-court advantage.
How does this represent "Excellence in Engagement"?
Intuit Dome sets new benchmarks in fan engagement by prioritizing speed, immersion and sustainability, creating the most seamless and electrifying live sports experience in the industry. One of the most significant advantages is how much better we know our fans. While the average NBA team knows less than 30% of whom attends their games, we know in excess of 80% of our attendees. This deep understanding allows for highly personalized experiences that drive stronger connections and loyalty.
The 360-degree Halo Board, the largest in any arena, delivers unparalleled in-game visuals, ensuring every fan stays engaged. The Wall, a 4,700-seat dedicated fan section, enhances home-court energy and creates a loud, impactful environment compared to other NBA arenas. Frictionless technology, including mobile-first entry and self-checkout concessions, reduces average venue wait times from 30 to 2 minutes, keeping fans focused on the action.
Beyond the game, Intuit Dome’s fully solar-powered, carbon-neutral design sets a new standard for sustainable sports venues, aligning with modern fan priorities. It’s hyper-personalized digital experiences and social media activations have already driven a 200x increase in digital engagement.
Intuit Dome is redefining how arenas shape the future of live entertainment.
Objective
The objective behind Intuit Dome was to create a state-of-the-art, fan-first arena that redefines the live sports experience while providing the LA Clippers with a permanent home designed exclusively for basketball. The vision centered on creating an innovative, technology-driven and sustainable venue that enhances fan engagement, player performance and community impact.
A key focus was on eliminating traditional pain points for fans, such as long lines and slow concessions, through frictionless technology like mobile-first food ordering and seamless entry systems. The 360-degree Halo Board, the largest of its kind, ensures that every fan has an immersive viewing experience. “The Wall,” a dedicated 4,700-seat fan section, was designed to create an electric home-court advantage.
Sustainability was also central to Intuit Dome’s mission, with the arena set to be 100% solar-powered and carbon-neutral, making it one of the most eco-friendly venues in sports. Additionally, the project aims to benefit the Inglewood community by generating thousands of jobs and supporting local businesses.
Overall, Intuit Dome was created to set a new standard for NBA arenas, offering an unparalleled experience for fans, players and the surrounding community.
