PrizePicks is North America's leading Daily Fantasy Sports platform, uniting players nationwide in a unique digital community where they can engage, share picks, and discuss sports. While we’re proud of our online presence, we also understand the value of in-person experiences, and we wanted to create something truly memorable for our players.
In 2024, PrizePicks returned with even more excitement, hosting the second annual PrizePicks World Championship—the premier fantasy sports event of the year. A star-studded lineup of celebrities, athletes, and influencers joined forces with PrizePicks players for an epic daily fantasy showdown.

Since our inception in 2018, PrizePicks has been committed to surprising and delighting players with innovative product offerings, engaging marketing campaigns, and exciting competitions for all to enjoy. To this day, we've maintained one of the highest levels of player engagement in the industry, and we’re always looking for ways to build on that success.
The 2024 PrizePicks World Championship set a new benchmark for our community. The groundbreaking campaign delivered record-breaking results and achieved our goal of making the event the epicenter of the sports-watching world. Offering players the chance to team up with their favorite athletes or celebrities is a one-of-a-kind experience that only PrizePicks can provide.
We’ve redefined what meaningful player engagement looks like, and we’re dedicated to continuing to push the boundaries of the industry, inspiring others to follow suit. Last year’s event was just the start, and we’re excited to continue delivering even bigger and better experiences for our players for years to come.
Objective
Following the success of the inaugural event in 2023, the PrizePicks team set out to elevate the PrizePicks World Championship into a premier event in the industry while expanding its reach by involving our players directly in the competition. We kicked-off with a social media casting call, inviting players to submit videos explaining why they deserved a spot on one of our 12 celebrity teams, with a chance to win a free lineup to compete for the grand prize of $1 million. The competition continued to grow, as PrizePicks players across the country had the opportunity to "tail" the lineup of the team they believed would win the championship, giving them a shot at an additional prize.
The main goal of the campaign was to create a viral championship event that would set a new standard for the industry and beyond. Building excitement in the lead-up to the event was crucial, with social media promotion through our celebrity ambassadors and the hosting of special events like a Master’s-style championship dinner and a full-scale media and production day. The grand finale was event night—an unforgettable cultural experience filled with VIP guests, top-tier entertainment, interactive activities, and a one-of-a-kind football viewing experience.
Strategy & Execution
At its heart, PrizePicks is designed for the modern sports fan—a fantasy sports platform where players can test their skills and knowledge for a chance to win, while also joining a vibrant community of fellow sports enthusiasts. This community has been a key part of our success, and last year we were honored to win the Hashtag Sports Award for hosting the largest sports Discord community in the world.
We took that passionate community and brought the digital experience to life with the ultimate sports celebration: an exclusive event featuring the biggest sports influencers in the country. We enlisted top athletes, entertainers, and comedians to join the competition, offering PrizePicks players the chance to team up with their favorite stars at the championship event in Atlanta. During our one-week entry period, we received an incredible 10,000 video submissions. We took things a step further by inviting fans at home to participate by “tailing” their favorite championship team’s lineup selections, giving nearly 200,000 players the opportunity to compete for their own prize.
