ABOUT THIS ENTRY

The Famous Group partnered with the LPGA for a creative activation throughout the 2024 Solheim Cup, one of the biggest tournaments of the tour year. The Famous Group produced the entire creative campaign using stunning LED visuals and custom set designs that highlighted the top athletes for U.S. Team and celebrated the landmark occasion.

In addition to the creative for U.S. Team itself, The Famous Group additionally produced immersive experiences for all fans in attendance at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia throughout the weekend. This event marked the first time the LPGA incorporated creative technology into player and team intros for one of the tour’s events.

The Famous Group’s partnership with the LPGA for the Solheim Cup set a new standard for innovation for a live golf event. Fans attending the event in person were able to witness the best players in the world and also had the opportunity to become part of the weekend’s action using The Famous Group’s proprietary technology.

The Famous Group creates solutions and technological advancements that are designed to serve the fan first and foremost while also increasing the overall experience, whether it’s in venue or at home. As a result of growing demographic shifts when it comes to fan experience, The Famous Group constantly strives to push the boundaries and create new technologies that evolve alongside the modern consumer.

As a result of the success of the 2024 Solheim Cup, the landscape will likely see additional leagues, teams, and brands look to find similar techniques to service, engage, and captivate live attendees at their respective marquee events.

Objective

The Famous Group and LPGA teamed up to generate awareness and engage fans during the biggest weekend of the tour season. In today’s era, the live sports experience can no longer just be classified by what the fan is witnessing on the course, but by what is going on throughout the duration of their time at the entire event.

The Famous Group utilizes every moment to entertain and captivate fans, whether it’s during pre-match festivities, commercial breaks, a stoppage in play, and more. As a result, The Famous Group gives fans opportunities to experience moments they can’t get from anyone else.

The Famous Group’s partnership with the LPGA is another example of the company finding organic and original ways to push creative boundaries and keep the fan experience paramount. The company knew this tournament was more than just a regular pro golf tournament. The Solheim Cup pits the United States against Europe in a landmark event that captivates the entire sports landscape.

With this knowledge, The Famous Group created experiences that highlighted the U.S. Team and enticed fans who were attending in person.

Strategy & Execution

The Famous Group conceptualized and executed a dynamic 60-second video opener used across a combination of Golf Channel broadcasts, LPGA’s social platforms, and on-site displays. This video opener was filmed on-site in the lead-up to the weekend and was turned around in minimal time. Additionally, The Famous Group created a series of twelve 30-second individual clips that highlighted every U.S. Team athlete to personalize the experience for fans and viewers.

Throughout the weekend, The Famous Group rolled out new interactive features for fans in attendance using its award-winning Vixi Suite platform. Fans near the first hole and the fan zone could step into an immersive room and have their selfies transformed into imaginative illustrations that offered golf and patriotic-themed prompts through

The Famous Group’s AI Photo Magic function within the Vixi Suite. The Vixi Suite also enabled fan photos to be aggregated into a cohesive mosaic displayed on video boards throughout the weekend, fostering a sense of community among all attendees. The Vixi platform also enabled the LPGA to capture fan data through email registrations, a valuable tool for its marketing team moving forward.
