Creator Sports Network
The 7th Annual Awards
- Best Use of Technology

ABOUT THIS ENTRY
Creator Sports Network (CSN) has built and deployed a new technology stack that fundamentally changes how live sports are distributed, experienced, and monetized. Through its industry-first Creator Social Rights Window, powered by CSN’s proprietary HIVE platform, the company enables creators to legally broadcast live sports across social platforms at scale, without disrupting existing broadcast or streaming agreements.
Rather than forcing fans into fragmented platforms or closed ecosystems, CSN’s technology distributes live sports natively into creator communities where engagement already exists. This transforms live sports from a one-directional broadcast into a participatory, social-native experience.
By combining rights management, creator enablement, real-time analytics, and brand activation into a single system, CSN has proven that creator-led live sports can operate compliantly, at scale, and with superior engagement metrics. The result is a new, technology-driven distribution layer that expands reach, deepens engagement, and establishes a new benchmark for live sports consumption.
How does this represent "Excellence in Engagement"?
CSN’s use of technology establishes a new benchmark for fan engagement by aligning infrastructure with real audience behavior. Instead of optimizing for passive reach, CSN’s platform is designed to capture verified attention, real-time participation, and community interaction.
By enabling creators to serve as a formal distribution and engagement layer, CSN transforms live sports into shared, interactive experiences rather than isolated broadcasts. Fans engage through commentary, reaction, and conversation in environments they trust, resulting in deeper emotional connection and longer session times.
This technology-driven approach also expands representation and access, allowing diverse creators to broadcast live sports in their own voices and languages. It demonstrates that engagement at scale does not require centralization; it requires the right systems to support decentralization.
CSN’s work challenges legacy assumptions about distribution, rights, and engagement, and provides a blueprint for how technology can modernize live sports without dismantling existing economics. It sets a new standard for how technology can power not just reach, but relevance, and inspires the industry to build for participation, not just distribution.
Objective
The objective behind CSN’s fan experience was to solve a growing disconnect between how live sports are distributed and how modern fans actually consume content. While rights investment has increased, accessibility and engagement, especially among younger fans, have declined due to platform fragmentation, paywalls, and rigid broadcast formats.
CSN set out to create a fan experience that removed friction rather than adding another destination. The goal was not to replace traditional broadcasts but to expand them by enabling creators to become an additive layer of distribution and engagement. This approach allows fans to experience live sports through trusted voices, familiar platforms, and real-time interaction without needing to search, subscribe, or switch environments.
By aligning live sports with creator culture, CSN aimed to re-ignite fandom among Gen Z and Gen Alpha audiences, deepen emotional connection, and create a scalable experience that works globally while preserving local rights economics. The objective was simple but ambitious: turn live sports from “must-watch” into “must-join.”
Strategy & Execution
CSN designed its technology with a clear premise: modern fans engage with sports socially, globally, and through creators, not through rigid, destination-based platforms. The strategy was to build infrastructure that supports this behavior at scale while remaining compliant with existing rights frameworks.
Execution centered on creating a standardized, repeatable system that could support hundreds of creators broadcasting the same live event simultaneously. Through HIVE, CSN established secure rights access, centralized creator management, and real-time analytics across multiple platforms and geographies. This allowed creators to go live natively within their own communities while rights holders retained control and visibility.
The platform was implemented across multiple sports and languages, enabling live creator broadcasts to operate as an additive distribution layer alongside traditional broadcast and streaming windows. By abstracting complexity away from creators and rights holders, CSN’s technology made creator-led live sports operationally viable, scalable, and commercially valuable, without requiring fans to change how or where they already engage.
