How does this represent "Excellence in Engagement"?

This episode of Mic’d Up represents excellence in engagement by providing as comprehensive and engaging a look as is possible into the behind-the-scenes of a NFL offense on a gameday. The candid nature of the content makes fans feel like they know McDaniels, adding that human element that broadcasts and other staged content cannot always achieve. Blending humorous moments with enlightening coaching moments, the episode sets the standard for the value that can be provided to fans through this type of content and the ways that teams can bridge the gap between coach or player and the fans.

Objective

Amidst an unprecedented resurgence for the New England Patriots offense led by an MVP-caliber quarterback, we wanted to take fans behind-the-scenes to see our offensive coordinator in action and build that connection between the coach and fans. This is part of our longtime, ongoing Mic’d Up series, where we choose (usually) one person per game to wear a mic and tell the story of the game through their eyes.

Strategy & Execution

Mic’d Up content is designed for multi-platform engagement, providing engaging content for fans no matter their amount of time and interest in the material. The main element is designed for YouTube audiences, a longform piece that provides the maximum amount of access and entertainment for fans looking for that level of interaction. Additionally, we created several clips of the top moments throughout the game specifically for our social media platforms, providing bite-sized elements for fans who only want that level of interaction but also acting as a prompt for fans who want more to enjoy the full piece on YouTube. All told, this video provides something for every type of fan, working across platforms to bring them closer to the team and provide an extra level of engagement following a win on Sunday.
