He’s also deeply plugged into the NFL legend circles. In addition to interviewing them, Schrager is actually friends with top names from Sean Peyton to Peyton’s brother Eli to Al Michaels.
His show, The Schrager Hour, produced by Omaha Productions in partnership with ESPN, delivers a professional lens to a casual hangout with the world’s best coaches, players, and famous superfans (among them: Jack Black and Paul Rudd). Each Wednesday, Schrager dives into the league’s biggest storylines and takes fans behind the curtain of Monday Night Football.

Rather than compete in the crowded debate-driven sports podcast space, the goal was to leverage Peter Schrager’s credibility and relationships to deliver something more intimate: informed conversations with the coaches, players, executives, and cultural figures actively shaping the league. By combining insider storytelling with behind-the-scenes access to primetime broadcasts like Monday Night Football, the show bridges two audiences: fans who obsess over tape and scheme, and fans who want to feel closer to the personalities behind the sport.
The podcast also aimed to extend ESPN’s NFL ecosystem into audio and social-first environments, creating a platform-native experience that complements Schrager’s appearances across studio programming while deepening engagement beyond television windows.

Peter Schrager is comfortable on the mic. He’s called games, voiced-over highlights, and interviewed the world’s best football players for decades. Now, he’s doing all three with guests representing the top ranks of coaching, playing, and fanhood in football.
Schrager's biggest superpower is his network of coaches and players across the league. He has great chemistry and strong relationships with the top coaches around the NFL. He's great friends with Rams HC Sean McVay and Broncos HC Sean Payton. Having these connections opens the door to some fun, unique stories you literally won't hear anywhere else. The show offers a platform for a few friends chopping it up and unpacking the plays of the week/year/century — they just happen to usually be current or future Hall of Famers.
