The 7th Annual Awards
- Best on YouTube

ABOUT THIS ENTRY
Hockey is weird. What Chaos! is a national hockey show, hosted by Pete Blackburn and DJ Bean. New episodes every Monday-Thursday, live at noon ET. All episodes can be watched on YouTube.
How does this represent "Excellence in Engagement"?
What Chaos! has become a staple for many hockey fans of all levels, with thousands of fans joining the interactive live chat and interacting with the show’s hosts daily on YouTube. The show’s “Learning Hockey” series on YouTube has also helped inform and shepherd new fans into the game because so many fans were introduced to the show through their Heated Rivalry commentary.
Objective
What Chaos! aims to embrace the fun, chaotic and often downright silly corners of hockey, creating an informative but entertaining and accessible entry point for hockey fans of all levels. DJ Bean & Pete Blackburn cover the NHL in a very unique way, looking at stories from a different perspective like the ESPN+ controversy, the Red Wings Zamboni driver scandal, and covering the best arena foods in the NHL with Chef Reactions.
Strategy & Execution
Rather than focus on X’s and O’s, What Chaos! often takes a more casual and conversational approach to discussing the culture of hockey and the stories, teams and players that captivate on a daily basis. An example of this is their interview with social media interviewer Judi Jupiter, who ran into San Jose Sharks players Will Smith and Macklin Celebrini in New York City. This results in more engaging and conversational content for the modern hockey fan.
