How does this represent "Excellence in Engagement"?
This player-personality content helps fans connect with athletes on a deeper level than just Xs and Os. As fans get to know players' personalities when the helmets come off, they can develop a deeper affinity and connection with the athletes, which fosters a greater connection to the team and sport as a whole.
Objective
The goal was to create unique and engaging content and to showcase our players' vibrant personalities off-the-field.
Strategy & Execution
Video for distribution on Detroit Lions Instagram is shot using cell phones or go pros with wide angles to allow for editing into a 9x16 frame for Instagram algorithm optimization. Captions are added using easy-to-read fonts with standout colors to allow for maximum accessibility among those who watch without sound. The content consists of fun prompts and challenges that let our players show their fun and engaging personalities to fans who are used to only seeing them helmeted on the field as football players.
