This player-personality content helps fans connect with athletes on a deeper level than just Xs and Os. As fans get to know players' personalities when the helmets come off, they can develop a deeper affinity for the athletes, fostering a stronger connection to the team and the sport as a whole.
Objective
The goal was to create unique and engaging content and to showcase our players' vibrant personalities off-the-field.
Strategy & Execution
Video for distribution on the Detroit Lions Instagram is shot using cell phones or GoPros with wide-angle lenses to allow editing into a 9x16 frame for Instagram algorithm optimization. Captions are added using easy-to-read fonts with standout colors to allow for maximum accessibility among those who watch without sound.
The content consists of fun prompts and challenges that let our players show their fun, engaging personalities to fans who are used to seeing them only helmeted on the field as football players.
