ABOUT THIS ENTRY

The Broncos' Art of the Game series provides a closer look at our photographers' most compelling images from each week’s game, putting an artistic spin on our normal coverage.

How does this represent "Excellence in Engagement"?

This is our only content that aims to provide a more artistic photographic look at the highest level of the sport to place fans where they cannot be, both in the physical space on the field and, ideally, also in the mental space that Broncos players put themselves on game day. Fans receive a more engaging experience following their team. Hopefully, it can inspire others in the industry to look at game coverage a little differently to share intimate and passionate moments.

Objective

The goal of Art of the Game is to present Broncos fans with an artistic perspective of each game. As team photographers, we have the responsibility and privilege of documenting game days from the moment the locker room is finished being arranged to the celebration in the locker room after a big win. Provided with access to certain areas and a familiarity with players, coaches and staff, we are able to share an exclusive look at a Broncos game in the small moments and the big ones. With that in mind, the aim of Art of the Game is to share our team photographers’ favorite images with a creative look to put viewers closer to the drama on and off the field.

Strategy & Execution

After each game, team photographers select their favorite images, which are then further culled with an emphasis on emotion, action and setting to create a gallery that tells the story of each individual game. Each photo is then edited to taste to best express the particular feeling highlighted in the photos — sometimes that means black-and-white edits or more colorful looks with an extraordinary vibrance that fits the sunny days or dramatic sunsets at Empower Field at Mile High.
