ABOUT THIS ENTRY
Stephen Curry, Steve Kerr, Brandin Podziemski & Trayce Jackson-Davis. All Warriors. All played a part in USA taking home the gold at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Relive the magic and go behind-the-scenes as USA Basketball became world champions. Our team traveled all over the world to capture this unique experience for our fans, all culminating with a Gold Medal and a iconic performance from Stephen Curry.
How does this represent "Excellence in Engagement"?
Although the Warriors were one of many NBA teams represented in Paris, not every team took advantage of this oppurtunity to cover the athletes and coaches in this way. We innovated and collaborated with USA Basketball and the NBA for access and behind-the-scenes footage, which is now almost becoming the standard when storytelling. Shows like "Starting 5" and docuseries like "Chasing Gold" on Netflix show there is an appetite for this content with this level of access, and we delivered.
Objective
Stephen Curry had one accoldade missing from his resume. Coach Steve Kerr was the next in line to take over coaching the best basketball team in the world, and up-and-coming prospects Brandin Podziemski and Trayce Jackson-Davis were participating on the scout team. Our goal was to give fans a look behind the scenes as USA Basketball went for Gold in Paris.
Strategy & Execution
With the assistance of USA Basketball, the Warriors were able to embed a crew with Team USA in the lead up to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
Cameras were rolling in Las Vegas as the team broke camp. They followed the team to London for exhibition tune-ups and eventually to Paris, where access to the first few practices provided a peek behind the curtain before th Olympics officially began.
Exclusive interviews with the players and coaches combined with footage to give fans a 360-degree look at the lead-up to the chase for Gold.
