Yahoo Fantasy Forecast is the flagaship fantasy sports podcast for Yahoo Sports, an original fantasy sports pioneer. The mission at Yahoo Sports is to make sports fans smarter. It achieves this mission in part with podcasts such as _Yahoo Fantasy Forecast_, which delivers the expert analysis fans need to be smarter fantasy managers. But content is only as good as its distribution, so Yahoo Sports prioritizes building products that make it easier for fans to discover and consume quality content. For example, the newly-redesigned Yahoo Fantasy app features a prominent news tab that surfaces expert analysis and advice from Yahoo Fantasy analysts. Via the news tab, users can consume _Yahoo Fantasy Forecast_. This means they can get fantasy roster advice from Yahoo Fantasy experts in the very same app they use to set their line-ups. Of note, the app’s news tab has resonated especially well with users. In 2024, there was a 14% year-over-year increase in article views within the app. In an era of increasing media fragmentation, having a one-stop-shop where fans can both consume fantasy content and play fantasy sports is extremely valuable. It makes life easier for fantasy players and creates more engagement in the app, which is ultimately a win for Yahoo Sports and the advertisers that fuel its business.

That’s why it invests so heavily not only in building premium fantasy products, but also in delivering expert fantasy analysis. A pillar of this analysis is the _Yahoo Fantasy Forecast_ podcast. Running every weekday, the show delivers the booms, busts, fades, waiver-wire pickups and stats a fan needs to know to have a winning fantasy football season. The goal of this show is consistent with the broader mission at Yahoo Sports: make sports fans smarter. _Yahoo Fantasy Forecast_ aims to achieve this goal by pairing intelligent analysis with an accessible tone that can resonate with a wide range of fantasy players – from the beginner to the advanced.
Strategy & Execution
_Yahoo Fantasy Forecast_ blends passion, analysis, and data to make its listeners smarter fantasy players. Hosted by Yahoo Fantasy analyst Matt Harmon, the podcast airs five episodes a week to cover fantasy football from every angle. Each episode features a different Yahoo Sports fantasy or NFL analyst, which keeps the content fresh and gives listeners a reason to regularly tune in.
Mondays, Harmon is joined by Andy Behrens, the President of the Fantasy Sports Writers Association, to recap the NFL weekend. Tuesdays, the show has a two-way conversation with fans via its People’s Panic Meter segment, where Dalton Del Don reacts to listeners' panicked voicemails, video messages, and emails. Wednesdays are all about data, with Sal Vetri appearing to share the most important stats a fan needs to know for the upcoming weekend. Thursdays, former NFL scout Nate Tice breaks down X’s and O’s in the Fantasy Film Room segment. And Fridays, Behrens and Tera Roberts help listeners make their lineup decisions for the weekend.
With a diverse cast of experts, and distribution across Yahoo Sports channels and all major podcast and social platforms, Yahoo Fantasy Forecast achieves its goal of making a wide range of fans better fantasy managers.
